Date: November 18, 2010 - Shannonville Motorsport Park, Ontario
Purpose: To create a before and after snapshot of performance measurements, to be able to provide measurable data on the benefits of Colt-Speed components. This test was not designed to explore the maximum speed capabilities of the Outlander, rather, to experience the handling characteristics, and it gives lap times of an average driver around a short course in a close-to-stock vehicle, the second test is expected to yeild faster times, once the Colt-Speed components are installed.
Method: Using Shannonville 1km go-cart track, times will be recorded, and then averaged, to give an idea as to the performance of the stock vehicle. Weather, including temperature, track conditions, vehicle condition, etc., will be taken into account, and once test vehicle is equipped with upgraded components, efforts will be made to copy these conditions to provide a fair comparison.

Conditions: Outside Temp (as read on MFD):13 degrees C. Time of day: 11:20 am. Track Conditions: Dry. Sky: Overcast. Track Condition (Asphalt condition) Good/Fair
Comments: Track had rough areas (areas that had been patched and filled) with uneven sections. Asphalt was mixed type - some smooth areas, some was the porous, rough type with larger pieces of stone mixed in. Challenging yet very fun small track for an SUV.
Traction control disabled; used 4WD 'LOCK' mode and shifted using 'Sportronic' mode. Used first and second gear only, except when passing through start/stop, used third gear only briefly. Oversteer is pronounced (inherent characteristic), yet vehicle maintained a stable compoure throughout. Lap #1: 1:02:66; #2: 57:67; #3: 57.79; #4: 58:23 #5: 59:21 AVG: 59:11. A fastest lap was observed that day of just over 54 seconds.

Ignition Booster
The primary voltage which is supplied to the ignition coil is boosted to approximately 15.0V, which stabilizes and strengthens the secondary ignition energy. The stabilized spark promotes complete combustion. Installation is simple bolt on using a quick-connect type coupler. If by any chance the ignition booster itself is damaged, a ‘safe circuit’ exists, which returns the system to its normal condition.
